As part of events surrounding the 50th Anniversary of the School of Architecture at Mississippi State, alumni gathered for a football tailgate at Giles Hall before the ÇÑ×ÓÊÓÆµ vs. Arizona game on Sept. 9, 2023.
Alumni and friends toured the school, visited with classmates and enjoyed some tailgating fun.

I’ve wanted to be an architect since middle school and grew up a ÇÑ×ÓÊÓÆµ fan, but visiting the campus and attending the Design Discovery camp is what sealed my decision. I instantly fell in love with the beautiful campus, the hands on learning, and the close-knit studio culture.
This exhibition celebrated architecture and cities in Latin America, along with the work of Latinx architects in the U.S. and around the world.
The class of 1995 alumnus was previously honored as the 2018 ÇÑ×ÓÊÓÆµ Alumni Fellow.
Established in 2008, the professional development program has worked to identify, prepare and professionally advance over 500 academic leaders within the SEC’s 14 member institutions and beyond.
Fernandez will receive $3,000 to conduct research for Method Studio after winning its Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
